A Mad Hatter Tea Party

A Wonderful Day for a Mad Hatter Tea Party! Here are a few easy ways to DIY your own Mad Hatter Party. Make some invites. Start by cutting out top hats using black construction paper. The ones I made were about 12x8 inches tall. Add ribbon and feather, flip over and print out Birthday information and glue to back. Easy! Then it's time for decorations. Save your Michaels coupons and get a couple moss runners for your main table, they look great. Add some roses from the dollar store and teacups. Then a great centerpiece. I made this one from blue satin and black lace. You can find several tutorials online for this. This hat is two feet tall, yo can make them in any size. Tulle is good to use and comes in many colors. I hot glued an old brooch to a black satin flower and wrapped the base with hot pink fur. For this party I made jumbo playing card streamers and hung them from the patio in fours. Hang upside down balloons to add some fun to the crazy theme. Don't forget cupcakes!!!

Crayon Wreath!

I moonlight as the Art Docent for my daughters Kindergarten class. I have three girls and every year I do Art in one of their classes. I made a Crayon Wreath to put on our door for the Holidays, here it is.
This is so easy, just cover a wooden wreath from Michaels with ribbon of choice. Then start to hot glue your crayons.
Before you know it you're DONE!! Leave it as is or add your teachers name, it's up to you to create. ENJOY.

COOKIE PARTY!!

Thank goodness the holidays are over. I've been busy with my girls, cookie decorating and teachers gifts! I'll be recovering my new chair soon, but for now here's what we have been up to.
Cookie decorating party! The girls had a ball decorating sugar and gingerbread cookies and then we went caroling. Christmas spirit for sure.
One great tip, go to Smart and Final and buy yourself a pack of six squeeze bottles. They work great for royal icing. No mess decorating, for $3.99!!!

Christmas Decorating Ideas

Here's a few more pics of our Christmas decorations. The Tree
I love the Vintage Style Stuff. Kitchen Tree
Vintage Silver Wine Bucket comes in handy for a small kitchen tree.
Christmas Mantel, my new favorite thing in the house, which my hubby made. I'm not big on jewels, I wanted a mantel. I need to get him on one of those HGTV contests. He would kick some major BUTT!!

Christmas Decorating has Begun...

Christmas is in full swing around here. I've started to decorate the Formal dining room for our annual Holiday Party. This year it's going to be Candyland for all the desserts and the KIDS. Lots of KIDS!!
So I'll post a few of our trees soon, still working on them.
Don't forget to decorate the guest bath, it's an easy way to make a BIG impact.
And YES we're those people that totally decorate the outside. We have three kids!
Stay tuned, we're still under construction. :)
